#NYFW FW17 Collections Highlights 1

Hello my "Walk-ins"

New York Fashion Week is a great opportunity to see designers from around the globe express their idea of Fashion through their collections. New York City has that vibe of multiculturalism that allows designers from different backgrounds and origins to showcase their collections. Today I would like to introduce or re-introduce you to some immensely talented designers whose shows I attended during NYFW.

Nicholas K

The siblings Christopher and Nicholas Kunz founded Nicholas K in New York City in 2003. Since then the label has been producing urban and modern collections. The FW17 collection was bold, edgy, inspired in the 90's but with that unique contemporary signature style of the siblings Kunz. The pieces included leather wrapped dresses, velvet jackets, metallic fabrics, long coats, velvet jackets, and flowing dresses.

Tadashi Shoji

Tadashi Shoji is the founder and chief designer of the Tadashi Shoji collection. Born in Japan, he moved to the United States in 1973 where he discovered fashion design. Shoji launched his label in 1982 and since then the company has constantly growth and nowadays is carried in major department stores like Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s just to name a few.

Since 2007 Tadashi Shoji has been presenting his Runway Collection in New York City and every time I come to NYFW is one of my favourites shows to attend. The FW 17 collection inspired by the“ the youth revolutions of the late ’60s and ’70s—from Tokyo to Paris to New York” showcased dresses with a lot of transparencies, embroidery fabrics, glitters and floral applications. He opted for colours like black, purple, blue, red and grey. Definitely Tadashi Shoji never disappoints no wonder why he can count on fans like Michelle Obama, Kate Hudson, Miranda Kerr and Katy Perry.

Noon by Noor

Noon By Noor was founded in 2008 by designers Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa who studied Fashion Design in the United States. They have been showcasing their collections in New York Fashion Week since 2012. They were recognized by Elle.com as one of “The Breakout Talents of 2013”. Celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo, Blake Lively, Katy Perry and Coco Rocha has been spotted wearing some of their pieces. The modern and effortless yet elegant FW 2017 included pants, dresses and long skirts made with rich and sumptuous fabrics. As they put it: “Noon By Noor's Fall 2017 collection contrasts oversized masculine shapes with feminine draped silhouettes”

New York Fashion Week nos brinda la increíble oportunidad de ver diseñadores de diferentes partes del mundo presentar sus ideas de Moda a través de sus colecciones. New York tiene esa energía de ciudad multicultural que hace que diseñadores de diferentes orígenes puedan presentar sus colecciones. Hoy me encantaría hablarles de tres diseñadores super talentosos cuyos shows tuve la suerte de disfrutar durante esta importante Semana de la Moda.

Nicholas K

Los hermanos Christopher y Nicholas Kunz fundaron Nicholas K en la ciudad de New York en el año 2003. Desde entonces la marca ha producido colecciones urbanas y modernas. La colección FW17 es moderna y audaz, inspirada en los 90's pero con ese toco único urbano característico de los hermanos Kunz. Las piezas incluyeron vestidos en cuero, jackets en velvet, telas metálicas, abrigos largos y vestidos ligeros.

Tadashi Shoji
Tadashi Shoji es el fundador y jefe de diseño de su compañía. Nacido en Japón, Shoji se mudo a los estados Unidos en 1973 donde descubrió el diseño de moda. Lanzo su propia marca en 1982 y desde entonces su compañía ha crecido constantemente y en estos momentos sus diseños pueden ser encontrados en grandes tiendas como Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s y Macy’s entre otros. Desde el año 2007 Tadashi Shoji ha presentado su Colección de Pasarela en New York y cada vez que asisto a la Semana de la Moda de New York es uno de mis show favoritos. La colección FW 17 inspirada en: "Las revoluciones juveniles de los años 60's en 70's que se dieron en Tokyo, Paris y New York" presento muchas transparencias, telas bordadas, brillantes y aplicaciones florales. En cuanto colores pudimos observar mucho negro, púrpura, azul, verde y gris. Definitivamente Tadashi Shoji nunca nos desilusiona una de las razones por las cuales sus fans incluyen a Michelle Obama, Kate Hudson, Miranda Kerr and Katy Perry.

Noon by Noor
Noon By Noor fue fundado en el año 2008 por Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa y Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa quienes estudiaron Diseño de Moda en los Estados Unidos. Ellas han presentado sus colecciones en La Semana de la Moda de New York desde el año 2012. Fueron reconocidas como "Los Nuevos Talentos de 2013" por Elle.com. Celebridades de la talla de Jennifer Lopez, Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo, Blake Lively, Katy Perry y Coco Rocha han llevado sus piezas. La colección moderna y elegante FW17 incluyo pantalones, vestidos, faldas largas creadas con telas de altísima calidad. Como ellas mismas lo explican: "La colección FW 2017 de Noon By Noor's contrasta formas masculinas de gran tamaño con femeninas siluetas en pliegues"
