Hello my "Walk-ins"

Montreal's Fashion & Design Festival was held last week at La Place des Festivals du Quartier des Spectacles and Le Musée d'Art Contemporaine in the heart of downtown Montreal. It started with two big events: the Garance Doré conference and her inspiring insights into blogging and fashion and the FMD collections segment that featured six talented Montreal designers chosen by this blogger to present their Fall-Winter collections. These fashion rising stars were: Eve Gravel, Mylène B, Niapsou Design, Travis Taddeo, UNTTLD and my former professor and vanguardist designer Ying Gao. 

It followed with plenty other activities and entertainment for fashion lovers, runways, pop-up boutiques, contests, music concerts, prices, everything was in place for people to have fun. Nathalie Rykiel as the honorary president of the Festival gave a conference and signed her latest book "L'Élégance". It was awesome!

The huge central stage hosted several runways, all of them of excellent quality. The ones that I loved the most were presented by Target, Re || Mode, Dynamite, Forever 21, La Vie en Rose, Guess, Marciano and of course the Fashion on the Rocks Street Style runway where I had the opportunity to participate ;)

I have been following the FMD for several years and I've noticed how it's growing in activities and attendance. This Festival is a very important window for Montreal fashion creators. Besides being the biggest fashion rendez-vous in Montreal, the Festival is on his way to become one of the most important fashion events in Canada.

El Festival de Moda y Diseño de Montreal se realizó la semana pasada en la La Place des Festivals du Quartier des Spectacles y en Le Musée d'Art Contemporaine ubicados en todo el corazón de la ciudad. Este debutó con dos grandes eventos: La conferencia de la conocida bloguera, fotógrafa e ilustradora de moda Garance Doré quien compartió con nosotros sus anécdotas, vivencias y experiencias en este maravilloso mundo de la moda, además de los desfiles del segmento FMD Collections donde seis talentosos diseñadores de Montreal escogidos por esta bloguera, presentaron su creaciones. Los diseñadores invitados fueron: Eve Gravel, Mylène B, Niapsou Design, Travis Taddeo, UNTTLD y mi profesora de diseño la vanguardista diseñadora Ying Gao.

Luego se realizaron una gran cantidad de actividades de entretenimiento para los amantes de la moda, pequeñas boutiques, concursos, desfiles, premios, conciertos, todo lo necesario para que los visitantes disfrutaran al máximo. Nathalie Rykiel presidente honoraria del Festival también compartió sus vivencias durante una conferencia donde además firmó su último libro "L'Élégance". 

La immensa pasarela central fue sitio de excelentes desfiles. Entre los que mas me gustaron se encuentran: Target, Re || Mode, Dynamite, Forever 21, La Vie en Rose, Guess, Marciano y por supuesto Fashion on the Rocks Street Style runway donde tuve la oportunidad de desfilar ;)

Durante varios años he asistido al FMD y me he dado cuenta como a través del tiempo ha ido creciendo en actividades y en popularidad. Este Festival además de haberse convertido en unos de los eventos de moda mas importantes en Canadá es una excelente vitrina para los diseñadores y tiendas de la ciudad. 

Felicitaciones al grupo Sensation Mode y a sus asociados por haber organizado tan excelente Festival. Fue una semana exhaustiva pero muy excitante. Aquí las dejo con algunas imágenes de los diferentes desfiles captadas por mi amigo y fotógrafo Pedro Alfaro Campos. Espero les guste! ;)
