#NYFW: The Art Institutes SS17

Versión en español al final...

Hello my "Walk-ins"
The Art Institutes runway was one of the first shows I attended in NYFW when the Fashion Week was still sponsored by Mercedes Benz. Therefore is always a pleasure to comeback and discover the new young and talented minds of the Fashion Industry. It's really fun to meet designers from different cultural backgrounds and to see how they reflect their heritages in their collections. The Art Institutes Spring 2017 show took place at The Arc, Skylight at Moynihan Station and this season’s theme was “Destinations.” The designers were challenged to take the attendees on an inspirational journey of discovery. During the 20 minutes that the show lasted we saw collections from bridal gowns of Spanish inspiration to modern sportswear, from funky Fashion to edgy and androgynous evening wear. And of course technology couldn't been left behind with a collection that explored the future and the technology used to help block radiation from our bodies. As you imagine when you help creative people showcase their talents amazing things can happen! Here are the names of the 9 designers who presented their collections and their respective institutions:
Adrian Escoto (Graduate, AAS Fashion Design program, The Art Institute of New York City)
Melody Hernandez (Graduate, BFA Fashion Design program, 2016, The Art Institute of Vancouver)
Julissa Arrington (Graduate, BFA Fashion Design program, 2015, The Art Institute of Dallas)
Devon Pezzano (Graduate, BS Fashion Design program, 2016, The Art Institute of Philadelphia)
Mommy Begazo (Graduate, BFA Fashion Design program, 2016,Miami International University of Art & Design)
René Mejia (Fashion Design AAS student, The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale)
Esther Ashiru (Graduate, BFA Fashion Design program, 2016, The Art Institute of Vancouver)
Maria D’Ocon (Fashion Design BFA Student, Miami International University of Art & Design)
Here some images of the runway. Hope you like it! ;)
