Hello my "Walk-ins"
7 years ago I started this adventure or how mom used to call it “my hobby”. Actually, I believe she still calls it a hobby! Maybe it’s just because I love doing it and sometimes you don’t have that fun in a regular JOB. But please let me clarify that the amount of work that a blog requires to succeed is huge! And I mean HUGE!!! Some people believe that you just go to a store buy some clothes, take a picture and publish it... I wish it were so easy.
In reality it takes a lot of time and requiere many different steps. For instance, you have to plan your outfit, read and look for trends, watch the runways and determine which trends will be adopted next season, which ones you do like and which ones go well with your style. Then you go shopping or receive the pieces, get dress and shoot, sometimes in “cruel” conditions. I have shot at -15, at 40+, with rain, with snow and with the very annoying wind that in few minutes destroys 2 hours of hair styling. Then you go home choose the photos, plan on how to post them and write about your outfit... and start allover again! And don’t even get me started with Fashion Weeks... let’s just say that if I get 3 hours of sleep a day is amazing! I wish you could all see with your own eyes all the effort that we have to put on. And I’m a perfectionist so it takes even longer ... :(
But anyway, I love what I do and that makes me happy and help me to keep going every time that I think about quitting... yeah sometimes I think about quitting too...
These 7 years have been like a roller coaster full of ups and many downs. But I have been able to slowly but surely achieve things that 7 years ago I thought were imposible to do. If 7 years ago you would’ve told me go that I will attend some of the biggest fashion shows in cities like Paris, New York, London, Milan or Mexico I would’ve called you crazy! If you would’ve told me that I would get to work with the brands I studied and read books about in school, I would’ve said you going nuts! If you would’ve told me that people would write me and want to meet me because they love what I do, that they would come to me to ask for advice, I would’ve laughed as hard as I could. If you would’ve told me that I would have the opportunity to go backstage on FW, talk to Designers, get together in a dinner with my teachers and my university’s Dean and chat about fashion years after my graduation, I would have never, in a zillion years, believe you. But things happen when you work hard, manage to stay calm during the storm and don’t loose sight of your dreams. And my dreams would’ve never been possible to achieve if I didn’t have your support. Because at the end of the day when I go to bed and I read your comments, your dms or a friend calls me and tell me they love my work then I recharge my batteries and I keep going. I don’t know what the future holds but I hope with all my heart that I can keep sharing this Fashion dream with you guys! Thanks and these seven years belong to you!

Hace 7 años empecé con esta aventura o como mamá solía llamarlo “mi hobby” yo creo que aún piensa que es un hobby pero tal vez es porque siempre es divertido y algunas veces los “empleos” no lo son. Pero déjenme por favor aclarar que la cantidad de trabajo que requiere un Blog para poder tener éxito es inmensa. De verdad es INMENSA. Algunas personas piensan que lo único que hay que hacer es ir a la tienda, comprar ropa, tomarse unas fotos y publicarlas... la verdad sería genial que fuera tan fácil. Pero la realidad es otra, lo primero es que tienes que planear tu outfit, leer las tendencias, mirar los runways para ver cuáles se utilizarán en la próxima temporada, cuáles te gustan y cuáles van realmente bien con tu estilo. Después de esto te vas de compras, estilizas tu look y vas y haces tus fotos muchas veces en condiciones que nada tienen de clementes. Les cuento que a mi me ha tocado hacer fotos a -15 grados, o a más de +40, con lluvia, nieve y con el desagradable viento que destruye una hora de cepillado en un minuto. Luego vas a la casa escoges las fotos, planeas como publicarlas y escribes sobre tu atuendo y luego el ciclo vuelve y empieza... y ni siquiera quiero hablar de las Semanas de la Moda donde si puedes dormir 3 horas dirías es una dicha! Me gustaría que algún día pudieran ver todo el esfuerzo que hay que invertir. Y para acabar de completar soy perfeccionista así que necesito aún más tiempo para llegar a mis resultados.
Pero lo que hago lo hago porque me gusta y eso me ayuda a seguir adelante sobre todo en momentos donde he pensado en renunciar... si les confieso también he pensado en dejarlo todo algunas veces :( Estos siete años han sido como una montaña rusa llenos de altibajos pero sin embargo he sido capaz de lograr cosas que hace 7 años creía imposibles. Si hace 7 años alguien me hubiera dicho que tendría la oportunidad de asistir a los eventos más grandes de moda en ciudades como Londres, New York, Paris, Milán y Mexico les hubiera dicho que estaban locos! Si me hubieran dicho que llegaría a colaborar con marcas de las que leía y estudiaba en la universidad les hubiera dicho que su grado de locura estaba llegando a un punto muy alto. Si me hubieran dicho que personas me escribirían para decirme que les gustaba mucho lo que hago y que me pedirían consejos acerca de moda, no hubiera parado de reírme. Si me hubieran dicho que estaría backstage en los desfiles de las semanas de la moda, que hablaría con los diseñadores que más admiro, que me sentaría a comer con mis profesores y la directora de mi universidad después de graduada para hablar de moda nunca lo hubiera creído. Pero cuando trabajas duro y atraviesas las tormentas con una actitud de tranquilidad sin perder de vista tu sueños las cosas terminan por suceder. Y mis sueños no serían una realidad sin su apoyo. Porque al final del día cuando me voy a la cama y leo sus comentarios y sus mensajes o algún amigo me llama para decirme que le gusta lo que hago eso hace que mis baterías se recarguen y pueda seguir adelante.
Yo no se lo que me depare el futuro pero espero poder seguir compartiendo esto sueño de Fashion con todos ustedes mi familia, mis amigos y todos los que me apoyan y me siguen de lejos o de cerca. Infinitas gracias y estos 7 años les pertenecen! Love y’all!
