Young Vietnamese designer Phan Dang Hoang wowed audiences at Milan Fashion Week SS26 with his LACQUER collection. The 42-piece line includes both men’s and women’s designs and brings traditional art to modern fashion.
Inspired by the lacquer paintings of Nguyen Gia Tri, the collection mixes elegant patterns with contemporary style. Hoang focuses on subtle beauty rather than flashiness: simple shapes are enhanced with carefully chosen fabrics, detailed construction, and layered techniques. Each layer of fabric is applied like coats of lacquer, creating pieces that catch the light and feel rich with depth.
